I lesson

Marketing plan

Now it the time to introduce your marketing plan to your classmates and teacher. Present the results and write down the feedback you received.

Team task (during team meeting)

  • Analyze the feedback you received from your teacher and classmates. What should you change?
  • Send the results also to your mentor.

Home task: send marketing plan to your mentor.

II lesson

Pitch like Steve Jobs

The teams are different in a ways how tasks and roles are divided: in some teams all the members might wish to go to the stage and share the responsibility in pitching, in others it will be a task of the team leader and the Social Butterfly, the person responsible for marketing. Anyhow, all members should be involved in preparing the marketing materials, pitch talk and visual presentation – the Tech Wiz provides facts about the product´s technological features and advantages and give feedback, the Graphic Designer helps to design the slides or the poster, etc. It is important that every member of the team is able to pitch their product!

I task

Watch Steve Jobs presentation at Apple Music Event 2001

  • Listen to the presentation and take notes.
  • How is his presentation structured? What sub-topics he covers?
  • What does he use to support his presentation (visual images, data, text)? How and when does he use them?
  • What do you notice about his use of questions? Adjectives? Repetitions?
  • What advice do you take from Steve Jobs in pitching your product?

II task

  • Create your pitch. How would you introduce your product to others? What visuals would you use? What music should be there? What messages should be there? Use this template for creating one.
  • For introduction, listen to short and concise description of your product watch this:
  • If your pitch is ready, practice your pitch in front of your classmates. Share the feedback with your team-mates and make your presentation better based on thoughts from your friends and teachers.

Be aware, that at the Grande Finale, your team will participate at Shark Tank. Prepare your presentation (pitch + visuals)

Big Stage Pitch

  • 1-2 team members are presenting. Although it seems that it might be easier to do it with 2 people, it takes much more time than doing it alone.
  • Be sure that your presentation is cohesive and includes other aspects that take listeners attention as well, if possible (slides, videos, music etc).
  • Presentation will be max 3 minutes. No more.
  • You will be asked some questions from the judges and maybe from the audience.
  • Bring out your idea, your target group, your marketing plan activities and your prototype during the speech.

Team task (during team meeting)

  • During next meetings your main goal is to prepare for your presentation.
  • Create one common pitch and practise it in front of your classmates and teachers. Adjust it based on the feedback you received from them. Also, decide which person or persons will be presenting your idea.
  • If the text is ready, share it with your mentor. Also give the mentor overview what music and illustrations you are using.
  • If you are interested in doing slide presentation, check the main rules of it once more.

Home tasks

  • Prepare a pitch text, choose music and/or visual materials. Send your ideas to your mentor for feedback.
  • Create a presentation for Final Big Meeting.
